Quortex PowerVu is Synamedia’s B2B distribution platform, and its MoQ work is pointed at a part of the market almost everyone else ignores: contribution and affiliate distribution rather than direct-to-consumer playback.

The argument is a good one. Publish/subscribe is a better fit for affiliate distribution than the broadcast-everything model it replaces. A distributor generates multiple video and metadata tracks; each affiliate subscribes only to the tracks it actually needs. That simplifies operations, makes regionalisation a subscription decision rather than a separate encode, and cuts bandwidth that would otherwise be spent pushing feeds nobody watches.

Synamedia also demonstrated targeted ad insertion over MoQ at NAB 2026, and B2B distribution workflows that stay backward compatible with MPEG-2 TS — which matters more than it sounds, because the affiliates on the other end of these links are not rebuilding their plants for a pre-RFC protocol.

Why this one is worth watching

Most MoQ product news is about getting latency down for viewers. This is about using the subscription model itself as the feature, which is closer to what the protocol is actually good at and maps directly onto the mechanics we covered in How MoQT Subscriptions Work.

Synamedia is also close to the standards work: Gwendal Simon, Senior Director of Technology, appears repeatedly in the working group record — including on the fill-fetch and SWITCH_FROM discussions at the June London interim — and represented Synamedia on the NAB Streaming Summit OpenMOQ panel. Claims from this vendor are unusually checkable against the IETF record.
