What counts as a session
Insight is counted in sessions. A session is one viewer's MoQT playback in one page: the WebTransport connections the page and its workers open, from the first one until the page closes, the player ends the session, or 30 seconds pass with no connection open. A viewer who stops and plays again after that starts a new session. A page that never opens a WebTransport has no session and is not counted.
- Once per session
- A session counts once, in the UTC calendar month it began, however long it runs and however many connections it opens.
- Failed playback counts
- A session whose only connection failed to open still counts. Those are often the sessions you most need to see.
- Reloads
- A reload starts a new session, unless your player passes the same session id to the collector again.
- Per workspace
- The allowance covers all of a workspace's projects together. It resets on the first of each month, UTC.
- Over the limit
- Nothing stops and nothing is charged. Sessions that arrive after the month's allowance is used up are still collected and still count in what changed and health, but they are not listed and cannot be opened. A plan with a higher limit shows them, the earliest first, up to its limit.
